MEMORABLE MOMENTS

At the ProAm game, we had this hand

Sheila and John were EW. Over N's 1C opening bid, Sheila overcalled 2H. The bidding escalated to 6C. Doubled. The pro (a nice young pro bridge player/coach) sitting North went to 6NT. Doubled. Down 7. 2000 for Sheila and John.

Barbara and Yan were also EW. Over N's 1C opening bid, Yan overcalled 4H. S double. Barbara Re-double. All pass. Opening lead was club J. Yan won the Ace and run spades to discard diamonds. On the third spade N ruffed with the King. 4H XX made for 880.

We got the 2 highest scores on this hand.

Barry and Yan were in the Swiss game on Saturday. All vulnable. As dealer, Barry opened 1C, Yan announced "could be short as 2". The next opp overcalled 3C. Yan had 14+ HCP with 5 spades, 4 hearts, 1 club and 3 diamonds. She doubles. All pass. Down 5. 1400 for Barry and Yan. Barry's club holding: K Q J 8 5. :-)
